Birding Tours

Birding is more than a checklist of species — it is a journey into landscapes, rhythms, and moments that unfold quietly in nature. Through my travels documented on my YouTube channel, I’ve had the privilege of exploring some of India’s most rewarding birding destinations, each offering its own unique blend of habitat, light, and life.

From the dense, bird-rich forests of Vanoshi Forest Homestay in the Western Ghats to the vibrant riverine ecosystems of Nameri National Park, every location tells a different story. Vanoshi offers intimate forest birding, where species like sunbirds, hornbills, and woodpeckers thrive among towering trees and filtered sunlight. Nameri, on the other hand, brings a mix of grassland, riverbank, and woodland habitats, where warblers, flycatchers, and elusive forest birds reveal themselves to the patient observer.

Further northeast, the journey to Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary and the scenic stretch toward Tenga Valley opens up a world of high-altitude birding. Mist-laden forests, winding mountain roads, and changing elevations create opportunities to encounter rare and endemic species. These are places where every bend in the road holds the promise of discovery, and where birding becomes an immersive experience in wilderness.

Closer to home, urban and semi-urban habitats like Bhandup Pumping Station remind us that birding opportunities exist even within bustling cityscapes. Set along the wetlands of Thane Creek, this location attracts a wide variety of resident and migratory birds, offering a dynamic and ever-changing birding experience.

Each of these destinations, featured across my videos, reflects a different facet of birding in India — from tranquil forest trails and canopy walks to river edges and open wetlands. My approach to birding is rooted in patience, observation, and respect for the natural world. Whether you are a beginner taking your first steps into birdwatching or an experienced birder seeking new landscapes, these journeys are designed to inspire, educate, and connect.

Through BirdingWithLez, I aim to share not just sightings, but stories — moments of stillness, flashes of colour, and the quiet joy of being present in nature. These tours are an extension of that philosophy, offering you the chance to experience these remarkable locations firsthand.

If you’ve followed the channel, you’ve already walked these trails with me. Now, I invite you to step into the landscape yourself — and discover the magic of birding, one sighting at a time. 🌿🐦
